Variety Of Sound has released TesslaPro mkII a transient aware signal saturator. Based on stateful saturation algorithms, it features an internal expandable ‘color model’ architecture and right from the start five different models are already included being three different ‘console style’ models plus one generic ‘tube stage’ and a ‘tape warmth’ saturation model.
It also introduces advanced DSP processing which is designed to have it applied across the entire mixing stage by featuring zero latency processing and further optimized assembler coding yielding a ~40% lower CPU footprint compared to its predecessor. Its very unique transient control appears further improved, vibrant 2nd order harmonic generation was added and better support for gain-staging is included now.
TesslaPro mkII is available for free as a VST plug-in for Windows at Variety Of Sound.
Time Domain has updated HYDi a free subtractive synthesizer for Windows to version 1.2. HYDi is based on a simple 3xOsc subtractive synth work flow, but with some twists. it has two voices – but is not duophonic, and should be played like a mono synth.

Distorque has released Azurite a free chorus VST plug-in for Windows. Azurite is a multi-voice chorus with a focus on rich sounds and versatile controls. My goal in designing it was to make as flexible a chorus as possible without losing great tones and ease of use. The result is an effect that will be handy for producers, guitarists, and glitch lovers alike.
Unlike most choruses, Azurite allows for multiple simultaneous voices. Each of these voices has its own delay line that is modulated by a separate LFO. Adding multiple voices leads to a thicker, smoother, and less wobbly tone. It also makes vivid stereo spreading possible with a mono signal. The Voices control chooses how many voices the chorus uses: one, two, four, or eight.
Azurite is available for free as a VST plug-in for Windows at Distorque.
